Good point Brent! It might be even better to not have the liability and time loss of having staff go to the store at all! Repeat trips to units can be eliminated too. It's all about efficiency and getting the right information at the right time so you can do what's best! Having inventory integrated into both your purchasing and maintenance processes also makes for more efficient and accurate work.

Not only does having a streamlined workflow help, but DOCUMENTATION of everything, as well.

I (vendor) have the opportunity to work with numerous properties, and can whole heartedly say that having a "binder" of necessary information (including phone numbers of vendors, and vendor backups) is crucial. This goes from paint colors / brands, to faucet style, and average cost of items.

This could be a spreadsheet, or a physical book of information. With the inevitable change in management company, or staffing - having a go-to spot for this information helps everybody out, and makes everyone more efficient (time + money savings).
