Want to secure 30 approved leases in a week? ⤵️

On my newest travel assignment, I was tasked with doing just that at a property completely unfamiliar to me.

Let me tell you how I did it…

Some people may be completely terrified of this task and tell themselves all kinds of limiting beliefs that they will soon believe to prohibit this from actualizing.

I immediately switched the narrative and actually asked myself.. "How can I get 30 leases in a week?"

After reviewing previous weekly reports, it showed that the weekly average was 4-6 leases a week.

If they could visualize 6 leases a week, theoretically they could visualize getting all those in 1 day.

Leading/instructing the team on the best ways to talk to prospects and funnel them to leases would take time that we did not have.

So I put down my work bag, pulled up a chair right beside the team, and began my new temporary position as a Leasing Agent.

I called the leads.

If they didn't answer, I called another applicant on the guest card.

I meticulously texted them using things they already presented to reel them in to respond.

If they weren't sure if they wanted to apply now, I didn't hang up. Instead, I asked them what the hold up was.

My philosophy is if leads/prospects come to US, why just let them walk out the door and in the arms of another more professional player?

Not only does this waste ad spend, it puts more work on you to prospect for another applicant that is already right in front of you.

Over that first day, the team caught on to my ethic and also visually saw the leases flowing in by me positioning myself as one of them.

We now had 4 star players with one main goal.

Get 6 leases for the day 😏😉

We ended at 8 that day.

Time to rinse, wash, and repeat!

22 left 🤫 (Less than 30! 🤣)

Over the week, we quickly surpassed the weekly record for this property and the momentum was like a snowball racing down a mountain in an avalanche.

Then we hit 30 exactly on the 7th day.

The funniest part was I just told the team we needed 6 each day.

Don't create stress where it's not needed.

Remember, the hardest part of ANYTHING is the part you don't know. Perhaps, try to break down your goal this week and see what you can accomplish by doing the little things.

Life tends to reward consistency and that's a proven fact!

Good stuff here Mauri! What you think, the narrative you tell yourself, listening to those 'imposters' in your head will only lead you to frustration. Framing this with the "How can I get what I want/need?" flips the script and turns it into a mantra that leads to "I can!". Great job for you and the team to accomplish this goal! Hope you made a big deal about it with the team, because we know that behavior that is rewarded is behavior that is repeated. Cheers my friend!

What a great story! It reminds me of the 4 minute mile where nobody thought it could be done, but once it was, it was passed again relatively quickly. Nothing major changed except the psychology of achieving the goal. I always have thought that sharing benchmarks of any sort can have a negative affect on someone as they revert to the mean. Without someone saying what is "normal", we can achieve SO MUCH MORE!
