This is something which I thought I would post as it affects everyone and we all need to get informed. Here is a free webinar put on by the Small Business Association and whether you are an employer or an employee I think it is relevant to be informed and not listen to rumors.

This is not political, so there is no agenda other than to ensure you have the correct information. Having the correct information can save you money and a lot of grief!

Right. Facts are important for all to know. Lives depend on this. So far, I have found advice for W2 employees and employers.

For licensed agents (status 1099 contractors according to the IRS) it may be necessary to contact an informed source for any options in obtaining insurance coverage. Usually, agents and brokers get no access to benefits of any kind. This is important to know.

In Ohio, a great way to start researching any options is by calling Sen Sherrod Brown's office. 216-522-3020

1099 contractors face quite a challenge in obtaining any healthcare coverage, especially in the common case of pre-existing conditions of any kind. This is common for agents, who are frequently middle aged and often female. Traditionally, women have paid more for coverage and gotten less. Now that reforms are finally starting, premiums will begin to decrease as the numbers of insured continue to grow. While women work the same jobs and take risks the same as any others in real estate/property management and pay the same business costs, we have always had less available to us. Since we head families and run businesses, reforms make it possible for us to survive, too.
