I was at a couple of properties yesterday and I saw some things which bothered me. I being of the old military school and way of thinking when I walk into an organization first impressions stick and it tells me a bit about the command.

Specifically I saw:
1. Drains in the parking lot where inside I seen debris build up
2. Earth washed into the parking lot from rain
3. Condensers sitting on pads that were slanted over the years
4. Debris in the condenser coils such as leaves and other matter that had been there for a while
5. Plants at the front entrance that needed to be either groomed or replaced
6. Outside wall was cracking where as you could see the bricks separating
7. One window cracked with a hole in it which looked as though a small rock or pellet has been shot through it
8. The pool had leaves and other debris in the bottom of it and it was not a little as one could tell it had been there for a while

Okay, I think I have painted the picture and this was less than 90 seconds of looking. If I seen this, then surely the manager and maintenance personnel should have seen this.

What impressions are the customers getting that come to be tenants? What is being said about the standards when the obvious is not taken care of?

One thing, I always say when you go to a place and see all of these things we have eyes that have become dead and no longer see the obvious and something needs to be done to get that vision back to 20/20 standards.

I believe appearance will either attract or scare away certain kinds of clientele!
