Lease contract was created by Alba
I have a quick question I was recently informed about the created date of the lease contract has to match the date of when the lease contract starts? Out of the time that worked for the industry I never came across any issues with filing in court. I just want to check if this is accurate

I have not experienced a problem with this. Often, the lease contract is created on one date and signed on a different date. However, I suppose in different states this might not be upheld; it's never been brought up in any matter before a court in which I have attended.

Alba, I think the person who told you that was misinformed. When a lease (or other contract) is signed, that is the date of execution, upon which the agreement becomes binding. The commencement date is when the rights afforded by the contract actually begin, and it is often a different date.

So the "lease signed" date (date of execution) and the "lease start" date (commencement date) are usually different. It is important to use the correct one when completing documents for court though.
