First time poster - excited to join MFI community! My question is regarding resident files - does anyone have ideas on going completely digital? We are a small, family-owned portfolio and want to improve our processes for storing important resident information.

Our applications and leases are all electronic but we keep "paper" resident files in our leasing offices that contain ID copies, rental/employment verifications (proof of income), and misc. notices distributed to residents during their tenancy. Does anyone have ideas on how to go completely digital? Are there any downsides aside from the initial legwork and training it will take to get this done?

We use Yardi Voyager and there are options to attach documents individually, but we want to store everything together. I'm wondering if anyone is kind enough to share how they went about it.

We are in the same boat as you are, using Yardi etc. The end goal is to go all digital. The one piece of advise is to ensure that whatever solution you decide to utilize, is very secure and redundant.
