I do not recall any discussion about using City-Data.com for leasing leads. In my area, it is full of leads from people relocating or just looking for apartment recommendations from other members.
They have rules about advertising, but you can send private messages to people who inquire about apartments.
For example, here is a recent inquiry on the website: "We are living in Florida and looking to relocate to either Fort Mill/Tega Cay SC or Pickens/Greenville SC area? We love the county and people in these areas, but as we are retiring, we are looking for an active community. Any suggestions???"
Another one is: "Hey everyone,
My job is relocating to Fort Mill, SC, and I am looking for a nice apartment around that area (Fort Mill/Tega Cay/Rock Hill etc) OR a nice apartment on Lake Wylie (lake view or lakefront). I am looking for a place that...
1.) Has a low crime rate/history
2.) Has mostly young professionals (22-28 yr olds)
3.) Is a great location for shopping and nightlife
4.) 2-3 Bedroom,1.5-3 bath.
5.) $1200/month or lower
Anyone have any suggestions for neighborhoods that fit the above? Thanks in advance!"
I would send them a direct message telling them all about my community and contact information to see if they would be interested.
It's also a great place to learn what is going on in the community. I put useful information in my newsletter.
