Hello everyone, We are looking to install smart digital locks on our units. Does anyone have any recommendations for smart digital lock that works well and not a hassle to use, what are your experiences in switching? good or bad? Thank you in advance!

Just be ready for push back though from residents. For my personal apartment I refused to let them install SmartRent. I see about 15 other units on site that did as well. I personally don't trust that technology in the hands of my leasing office for security reasons. So far after the install they have had to re enter all units twice to adjust something. Who is liable if a hack or malfunction happens and unauthorized access is given to a unit? What does your lease contracts say? I installed my own smart lock that has more features, but more importantly the office is removed from the liability of accidental access because it was my install.

I second ADT. I have their whole smart home package and it is so easy to work with. Other companies do not offer the support that ADT does

The lock I use is the Schlage BE 467. Good price, can use with free software or with paid one.

Reach out to Chirp. They're a "curb to couch" solution for all access points, including apartment doors, that are digital and work with their app.

Be careful with SmartRent of getting the ring doorbells they include. They don’t have a good system to turn the codes over to mgmt and it creates hassle. Otherwise I liked their locks and app.

Dwelo is my favorite so far. Ease of use. App based use. Still have a standard key if needed and incorporates with smart speakers.

There are many hardware/software options and use cases to consider, you also should be mindful of your local fire codes and possible ADA compliance.
