Understanding Twitter Hashtags

Do you want your Tweets to be shown on Multifamily Insiders? Use the #mfi or #AptChat hashtag, explained below, and get seen!

Twitter hashtags are essentially general topics or keywords in Twitter so that posts with the same topic can be grouped together. For example, for Multifamily Insiders we use the hashtag #mfi, which allows our system to pull in all Tweets that have that particular hashtag. Here's an example Tweet:

@brentwilliams2 Have you checked out the new Twitter feature on Multifamily Insiders? #mfi

All you have to do is include the #mfi hashtag in your tweet and our system will pick it up! We just started our hashtag, so right now this won't show much, but later we'll be able to track the volume of conversations about #mfi using this neat tool: www.hashtags.org/tag/mfi

(NOTE: We also pull in posts that reference "@mfinsiders", so if you retweet or respond to a post, you will also show up on the front page.)
