Please don’t tell me it’s ok for children to draw on the walls and sticker the frig. Guys this is not ok on any level. I have five brothers and sisters and 5 nieces and nephews, we would have been beaten had any of us done this.
What is the new parenting style?

It is going to be an expensive lesson in creativity. It is one thing if you OWN your home & appliance, another completely if you rent.

The walls look like they need to be re painted anyway. So that's an easy fix. Charge the resident back for it if it takes more than the one coat. The stickers would annoy me more and our cleaners would probably charge it as an excessive, which again... charge back to the resident. Not going to lie. My kids did this once when living in an apartment but I let management know about it before hand. I didn't want to try to wash it off with it possibly causing more damage to the wall and strip the paint. They were understanding about it.

Ps- my kids did get punished for it haha it's definitely not ok. So I am not saying it is. But it can be fixed. Lol

Girl kids will be kids. But it can be washed off. My kids did but small area and I just explained why we can't. They didn't get in trouble, they were just being creative . That's the problem people don't take the time to explain the why's and just want to punish. Kids to this day love arts and crafts and are very smart and well educated. It's really not a big deal to have to post a pic of what residents did.

100%. Kids will break things, stain things, don't even get me started on carpet lol. You may not even own a nice shirt anymore until they are older gaha. BUT I will never be one to tell another parent how to parent. It's hard enough as is, definitely don't need people who don't even know you coming at you for how you chose to parent. Some spank, some talk, some do both, some take things away as punishment. It's all how the child responds to it to know what works. Spanks or taps may work for one kid but not the other.

I just have never understood why anyone would want to live like this. I would whoop that A if my kids did this. Same for stickers on my damn car windows!

The one time each of mine did this they had to wash it off the walls. Which is probably why they only did it once.

I think some parents give their kids squirt guns with koolaid inside.

The new parenting style is please don't hurt their feelings. They need to express themselves! Oh my. Children today...well many of them are not taught respect. Respect for people or things. It is a sad world that we live in!

“But, it’s normal wear and tear.” Or “kids will be kids” - but seriously, where is my deposit?

Not to mention the parenting style - but also know from a property level this will be an extra charge for wall priming and prep for this as well. So as a Supplier, please don’t be surprised when the quote is higher!

So I wouldn’t allow this but even if I did, I would 100% at least attempt to clean it up or let the office know I am totally responsible for any and all painting charges. What makes me angrier than this is grown adults who do NOT take responsibility for the kids they made. What they do falls on you and that’s just what being a parent means! Then these same people have the audacity to ask for their deposit back.

I'm like you my parents would have beat that ass. I never allowed my kids to deface property either. Amd the new parenting style- there is no parents, they're all friends.

In the adult world that’s called defacing property and that is a crime parents really need to be strict with their children there is no excuse for this behavior.

As a parent, if my kids did that I would 100% prime the walls myself. I would even go as far as asking the office what their paint is to paint it myself.

But at the same time - as someone in the property management industry, just charge them and move on. Yes it’s more work on the team, but I will take an extra few coats of paint over a gross trash out any day.

Also, my oldest never even had the urge to draw on walls so my children have never done this, and I would probably cry if they ever did. Lol

I guess it's better than what I'm dealing with right now. Walls look beautiful but omg the smell of cat and dog urine in carpets and flooring. Tenant had 3 cats and 3 dogs.

Can't even blame the kids when parents don't care. Entitled to do whatever they please.

I had kids that not only drew on the walls, they had bunk beds and access to the ceiling and the ceiling fans, which they covered in black and red permanent markers! When the parents got the bill, I was informed "That's just normal wear and tear when you have children." Ummmmmm....NO!
