What makes the perfect opportunity to show your residents how much you appreciate them and a chance to show your community some love? A resident event hosted during the month dedicated to love!
Check out some of my favorite February resident events below!
Wine and Canvas
Find a local business to host this event to avoid the headache of liquor licenses, supplies, and finding space to accommodate. While at the event, offer refreshments, exclusive renewal offers a resident referral plug, and make sure your team engages with everyone.
Decorate Your Own Wine Glass
Something so simple but so cute can go a long way. The secret to an event is you want the guest to have a takeaway that reminds them of the event you hosted! Decorating your wine glass is easy and can be available for an all-day event if your clubhouse is accommodating.
Love is in the Air Photoshoot
Do you have someone who is good with an iPhone camera or has a camera of their own? Great! Use your team's skills to your advantage by hosting a photoshoot with their pets, partner, or even by themselves! The setup is easy. All you need is a backdrop, some pink and red balloons, and some props. Photoshoot events are great content generators too.
Our Love Language is (Insert food or beverage here)
Take the pressure off you and your team and host a food truck in your community! If you have a coffee truck at the entrance from 7 AM - 10 AM, have a few stickers with a QR code linking residents to an email draft inquiring about their renewal options. Or, offer an exclusive renewal rate to those who scan the QR code the day of your event!
Date Night on Us
Renew your lease, and we will cover your date this Valentine's Day! Invite your residents to renew their lease ahead of time and raffle off an exclusive date night as the prize! Partner with local businesses to create a desirable date night package and skip the TGI Friday's gift card.
Creating a resident event should take more than 5 minutes of scrolling on Amazon and loading your cart with holiday-themed decorations. You need to understand the return (brand awareness, renewals, leases) you are getting on your investment (the event). With February being the month to celebrate love, it's the perfect opportunity to host an event focusing on renewals.
But how do you create excitement over your next event to make it worth your investment?
Here are 4 tips on creating excitement around your next event.
Advertise your event, at minimum, 2 weeks in advance
Social Media posts
Flyers/ScreenCloud Graphic/Online Resident Bulletin Board
Remind your residents when they stop by the office for a quick chat
Identify your target audience
For example, "Spread the Love" will target lease expirations within the next 120 days.
Include your entire team (maintenance, too)
For my social savvy communities, replicate a "Get Ready with Me" reel as you prepare for your event with this great example.
