Autumn is definitely in full swing. And while it’s always a little sad to say goodbye to summer and its long hours of sunlight and warm temperatures, fall is a wonderful time of year too. For starters, it’s a great time to plan a resident event in your apartment community, since people’s schedules are no longer packed with vacations and other summer activities.
Thinking about planning a resident event this fall at your apartment community? Here are a few ideas to get your creative juices flowing.
Fall Festival: Do you have a lot of families with children living in your community? Plan a Fall Festival. Set up stations in your community room (or outdoors, if weather permits) with fun fall activities, such as face painting, pumpkin decorating, fall crafts and fall cookie decorating.
Breakfast Break: Set up a table outside of your leasing office with hot apple cider and donuts. It’s a low maintenance “event” and your residents will appreciate the fun fall treat on their way to work.
Football Watching Party: For many folks, football is one of the best parts of fall. So, rent a big screen TV (the bigger the better) and invite your residents to come cheer on the local college or professional team. Encourage some friendly competition by asking your residents to wear their favorite team’s colors.
Movie Night: Don't have many football fans living in your apartment community? Then plan a movie night instead. Provide popcorn and beverages and invite your residents to bring additional snacks to share.
Fall Potluck: Fall is the perfect time to cozy up with some delicious comfort food, like chili, casseroles and pumpkin muffins. Host a potluck in your community room and invite residents to bring their favorite fall dish.
