Q: How many residents does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: We don’t know but we can tell you that 12% of all work orders submitted were to do this.
We analyzed a sample of more than 1,250 maintenance requests from properties we work with and tried to see what we could learn. For example, which appliance prompted the most work orders? (See the infographic for the answer). Our initial analysis was quite simple, we know the data could be broken down myriad ways (property type, problem type, seasonal, regional, etc.).
The next question is: how can this type of information be used to make a property more efficient? Are data like these useful for property managers? What other data would you like to see? Our hope is that by collecting and analyzing work order data properties (and suppliers) can find ways to improve. All feedback is welcome.
