Don’t overlook the importance of performance management! As a supervisor, it is critically important to practice accountability at all levels, all the time. Holding your team members accountable can help employees to better understand their role in the company, including what they produce, how their work impacts the company, and how they should interact with others. Accountability is an important and useful tool in your professional “toolbox”, where it can help ensure that the best performers are identified, kept happy and challenged, while producing optimal business outcomes and modeling behaviors.
