When tested by researchers the dogs had something like a 95% accuracy - but only when the tests were controlled. However the dogs scored lower when they had to seek out bed bugs that were naturally occurring in hotels/apartments. Not to mention, it also depends on the handler and the dog. Results vary too depending on the specific dog and depending on said dog on any given day.
Obviously, humans have a zero percent accuracy in sniffing them out but this method is not foolproof. I would not rely on it. I think they would be of better use to use as prevention and after move outs.
