We are about to make a change with the blog tagging system, but I wanted to get feedback before we did. Right now, you have to choose your tags from a list, which means that we miss some crucial tags, and we also force tags onto blogs that are not an exact fit. So we are thinking of opening up tagging so that you can add your own tag. The problem with this plan is that it will not be easy to simply scroll down the list of tags and check them off, since there will be many, many more tags. Instead, it will likely be necessary to write in your own tags. This will take a few extra seconds, but will be much more accurate down the road.
Before we make that change, I wanted to get any feedback that you all might have. What do you think?
