I am looking for information to pass on to the residents for Fire Code Compliance and Violations.

It's a new property, no breezeways. I am attaching a photo. Two Story building, with 4 access doors on the front with a covered porch all of the way across.

Since the weather is warming up, there are residents who have started putting chairs outside under the covered area of the front of this building. I think it is a fire code violation due to blocking the exit.

Also, what would be an approved cigarette butt holder? They have "butt pots" for cigarettes on the front, also.

I can't find any information to clear this up.

Thanks!

Sandy, could you just ask the local fire marshal? Approved cigarette butt containers are found in places that sell outdoor pool furniture, etc.

Great American is running a $50 off $99 special; they have these cool enclosed upright cigarette disposal decorative - in 4-5 color. They are safe to use and really affordable with the deal. I just bought 3 for around the pool and other areas where the few smokers sit to smoke. Check it out. I've used these for 15+ years. They seem really safe, especially in windy areas. I'm a property manager in Huntington Beach.
