Help us show appreciation to Maintenance Teams EVERYWHERE by sharing the most BIZARRE work order or service request you've EVER asked your team to perform!?@&#^!???
We have one week till our celebration! Please give it your best shot!
Thanks!
Here are some crazy ones that my staff have received over the years:
*Someone called in a noise complaint regarding their neighbor, and the noise was coming from the Army Base doing their training.
*Another noise complaint: They actually transferred apartments because they thought it was their neighbors making noises, and it was their hearing aid's battery getting low.
*Service request was called in to remove a dead frog from a residents car grill.
I'll be sure to add more if I think of any. Thank you Mary!!!
1. A lady called in saying her smoke detector was chirping so she dismantled it. It turned out that it was HER OWN carbon monoxide detector that was chirping. The funny thing about this was that the apartment was ALL ELECTRIC.
2. A lady called and asked that someone come clean up the grass clippings that got on her car when the lawn was mowed.
3. A lady called in because the wand that opened and closed her mini-blind fell off the hook.
4. Resident called irate, saying there was a horrible smell coming from her garbage disposal (but also said it was functioning just fine). She called back moments later to let me know that the smell was coming from a small plant she had sitting on the counter.
I think my most favorite Service Request ever was caused by incomplete communication from my leasing professional. She had written: "Apartment Broken".
After going to the apartment to see if I could figure it out, failing and asking the resident (not home at the time) to please call with more details, they provided it...
Apartment front door doorstop broken; The little rubber end bit was missing from the spring.
Here's a gross one - We get a request to unclog a tub drain. Our guy went underneath to unscrew the pipe, and urine ran down his arm! The tenant had been using his tub a urnal! EW!
Thank you ALL for your responses...even the gross ones! :woohoo:
Maintenance Appreciation was a big success and your stories were GREATLY appreciated...except by those trying to eat their lunch!
