Is it just me or is there no pilot ignitor switch here? I know there are systems you light manually, just a bit odd to go through all this trouble (the wires going from the power switch into the siding feed to a remote power switch) and not have an ignitor switch to light the pilot in the back underneath fake logs. Or am I missing something?
The remote switch 9V connector wires tore at some point after last winter, and the pilot has since gone out.

Call your gas company they will come out and light it for free usually.

I'll give them a call but if I recall they only come out for an emergency otherwise tell you to contact a qualified technician

The controller ignitor has three positions. Pilot (start), on (run), and off.
Find some instructions to confirm.

The instructions and model details are all chained to the back of the fixture, but I can't find anything online specific to the model. I'm assuming it's outdated. The house was built in the 60s.

I'm not jumping that far yet. From what I can tell there's nothing wrong with the unit other than the remote system which shouldn't really interfere with the ability to operate the unit other than convenience

You may just need to replace the transponder switch, that's what we had to do dast year, the unit was 11 years old.

I think it should be able to operate without the remote, but either way I'll still need to light the pilot
