Looks like a persistent leak saturated the subfloor. Did maintenance install that stool? Doubt it happens if installed by a plumber.

You’re right on the dot! Building shift. Happened to me. Back of base snapped twice. Two toilets in two months in a five year old asset. Building engineer was involved on second one for assessment.

A tilt and lean to wipe kind of guy or gal. Most likely over weight and over time the toilet gave way. I’m not joking that’s is probably what happened.
