Painting Tips was created by Keri
I finally had a 3 bedroom open up on the property I manage and my family and I are moving in as soon as its ready! I'm doing all the make ready on it and I'm planning on painting this weekend. The ceiling is that popcorn type ceiling. Here's my question...how do you paint right up next to that stuff? Are there any tricks you all can give? I don't want to have my wall color on my ceiling :)

Thanks!

You can take a wide-tipped screwdriver and run it along the edge of the ceiling where it meets the walls. This will scrape away the popcorn texturing just the width of the screwdriver and make it easy for you to get in with a paintbrush or edger. The missing popcorn ceiling won't be very noticeable.
