Hey everyone, I wanted to get this info out to all of you ASAP. Beginning April 21st, Google is starting a massive update that is prioritizing mobile friendly websites over non-mobile websites in their search engine rankings.
What does this mean for you? Well, if you manage your apartment community's website or multiple communities or just any website in general and your website is not mobile friendly, then you could see a significant drop in rankings, traffic, and in effect - calls from potential renters. This is very important because the majority of your potential renters use their phones to search for apartments online. If they cant find you, they cant call you.
This is what Google said:
"Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices."

Another way to do this is type your website into Google search on your mobile phone. If it says "mobile friendly" next to your website when the search engine results come up, you have nothing to worry about.
Lastly, if your website is not mobile friendly and you have no clue how to fix it, I can help.
