NALP Certification was created by BJ Rice
I am thinking of going for my NALP certification. Can anyone who has their certification share what they thought of it and if it was worth it or not??

Most definitely do it! I was on a panel making the decision to award the certification.

Even the most seasoned leasing professionals were pleased with the experience and how much they learned. It was a great opportunity to do marketing for communities and learn about comps in ways that had not been approached by the staff I reviewed.

Take it seriously and use it an an opportunity to showcase you expertise! Good luck!!!

BJ- I would highly recommend you complete the NALP designation program! I was a Leasing Agent for 2 years and I have moved up within the company since then, but I am currently taking the NALP classes (when I say currently, I just started today). So far, in the 8 hours I have completed, I have already been exposed to numerous skills and techniques that I will apply when I am on property! I hope this helps you with your decision! Good luck and keep up the motivation to continue your education within the industry!! :)

If it helps, everyone I have spoken with who has taken this has throughly enjoyed and are glad they did. I got my CAM and thought the kinds of information gave me new insight into different topics I had no expertise in such as maintenance and technology. I highly recommend you dedicate yourself by going through the classes. Just my thoughts hope they help.

Good luck BJ and Tonirae!!! If I can add another "assignment," please share your thoughts and experiences with all of us after you earn your designation. I hope this course will be beneficial and fun for you!

BJ you can also apply for a grant which will pay half of the tuition and in many cases your company will pay the other half. Good luck!
