NALP online ceritfication vs classroom

I want to get my NALP certification, but will be out of the country on my honeymoon when it is being offered in my area. The only other class that I could possibly attend is out of state and I am slightly concerned about being able to get off of work since I'm currently not eligible for vacation pay. I saw that they offer the certification online, but am worried if I will be missing out by not going to the actual classes. I have always loved training with others because of the interaction and feedback you get from others experiences. I think that sometimes that is where you get some of your best information is not in the course itself, but what you learn from other people. While yes I want the certification I also want to get as much out this program as possible. Has anyone else done the online certification or known someone who has? Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

I am considering getting this certification as well but unfortunately it isn't offered in classroom format where I am. I don't know anyone that has taken it, but in my opinion if you are able to do the classroom I'd definitely do it over online, just for the reasons you mentioned!

I am going to take the class in Lexington, KY! My company is going to pay for the class and the days I'm gone will count for my hours for the week. I have to pay for my own traveling expenses, but my husband agrees that it is well worth it. I am very excited and can't wait to have my ceritfication. :woohoo:

that is awesome Nicole it is a great move.I wanted to take it with my association classroom setting in June but did not have the current funds to do it. I have consider taking the online classes only because it is only offered once a year with my association and in the past I could never get anyone to allow me the time off as the classes were held durring working hours. You have an amazing company that is going to pay you and values your training. Congratulations!!!!
