That picture is priceless. Working in a college town, I see things like that all the time. Ok, not that bad, but bad enough. Hand written signs with misspellings, bad grammar and occasionally even a missing phone number! Those faux-paus mixed with overgrown bushes, uncut grass and litter in every corner make for a very bad first impression.
Every morning, a member of our maintenance staff walks the community grounds to pick up trash and note any repairs that need tended to. One round of trash pick up is never enough though. During routine tasks, tours etc, each and every member of our team does not hesitate to stop and pick up a piece of litter. We do so because we are all aware of the effect curb appeal has in the eyes of prospective renters, current residents and upper-level management alike. What is the benefit to beautiful signage if there is a half eaten burger stuck to it?
