I wasn't sure if this is where I should post this question, but here goes. How much are any of your companies charging for consulting fees? Whether it would be do a project like file audits, eviction or procedure advice, or data entrey projects. Also any suggestions if to charge by the hour or by the project. Thanks.

Hello Matt,

That is in a way a tricky one. First, I give the client and option of hourly vs project. Some want the hourly because once you have gotten to a certain point they can say hey and let you go, and some like the project costs.

Me, I perfer project costs. Normally before I give a quote I go an look the area over first. I think to give a quote before checking out the area is not a good idea and you can end up messing yourself over as well as the property if you do not understand the full scope of work needed. Important from an entrepreneur's perspective, what is the customer willing to pay?

Then are you a small company of a big 500 pounder? If you are small normally it is going to be less. How much to charge? Strategy consultants usually command the steepest fees, followed by operations-management, human-resources and IT experts. Most consultants are secretive about their fees, so studying the competition is a hard one.

Having rambled on because I am a consultant as well no matter what price you charge, be sure to give customers what they paid for. I offer a 100% money-back guarantee on the advice and services I provide. The bottomline here is I believe in the services that I provide and so the customer is confident that they will get what the want.

I even do followup on my dime to ensure they are happy and what I put in place is working for them. Word of mouth works wonders when you give quality!
