It's a TOUGH economy, despite the news the recession is over (You feeling it?) Our on-site teams in particular are getting pressured to have the best possible NOI with residents struggling to pay rent and expenses continuing to grow, stuff continuing to break, and municipalities looking to fee us more and regulate us tougher. They hear residents' stresses day-in and day-out, and residents are really stressed. And then we call and need something...NOW.
Good point Mary. There is a balance--on one hand, we need to establish very definite systems of accountability to make sure team members are performing and maintaining company standards. On the other hand, where you hold people accountable, you need to have really good systems of reward, motivation, and recognition for those who do perform.
Here are our goals for the rest of 2010.
1. Contuine to learn and use technology to drive the future
2. Continue to monitor costs and save money everywhere we can.
3. Strive for excellent service so we can RAISE RENTS!!
To achieve this we will work on educating, supporting and Empowering our teams to WIN!!
