Just curious- are you waiving late fees for everyone- no questions asked? Or are you asking folks to talk with you and make arrangements if they lost jobs or have experienced financial hardships due to Covid19?
Waving late fees. A pandemic is going on, we are in lockdown, we are about to find out who will die or live.. and your talking about LATE FEES! I thought people couldn't even pay rent never mind added stress you impose!
We are posting late fees but making payment arrangements for past due amounts. If the resident pays as agreed in writing, we will waive the late fees when they make the final payment. We are willing to defer up to one month’s rent with repayments beginning June 1.
We are if a resident contacts us and has proof that they cannot pay rent due to being laid off or are unemployed due to Covid-19. We will defer the amount owed with anticipation that some rent will be paid and will work on a payment plan when the resident goes back to work.
We've waived late fees and with proof of direct impact (or the Public Health Order for some) we will defer rent payments. My insurance company, mortgage company, and credit cards are all offering waived fees or deferred payments also (I am working and don't need the help but had to research for our Resources and Information release to the community.)
