I'm so bummed! Last week my battery meter showed it was only half charged. I was a little concerned but thought it was just the cold weather. Last night I went to drive to the bank, and the battery level was very low, but I thought I could make it there and back because it's less than a mile. I didn't even make it there, the truck stopped in the middle of the PACKED mall parking lot. I called Les Schwab, where we bought the battery from just a few days ago. They came out and gave me a jump, but it didn't get me half way home (remember, it's less than a mile.) It took four jumps to get me to my parking lot but I couldn't even make it to my parking space. So now it's freezing, I have no vehicle, and I have to walk the mile to the bank.
Les Schwab thinks its the alternator. It would cost hundreds to get repaired, which we don't have right before christmas, and we are supposed to go to see family members this weekend. UGH! OK, done venting now. Back to work.
ohhh Rose that doesn't sound fun at all. I had the same predicament about 3 weeks ago...however, after the multiple times in my car in the shop it turned out to be a faulty battery after all and not the alternator. I hope that is your case. Do you have another car or one that you could borrow to see family?
