Hello fellow multi-family professionals!

I am wondering which companies out there are requiring a rental history verification during the application process?

If so, how far back do you look? 6 months? 12 months? Longer?

Who checks for you - is it your associates or do you use a service?

Thanks in advance!!

We still do! Our on-site associates do the verification, and yes, it sometimes holds up an application, but so does employment verification. 6 months back for rental references. Hope this helps! Stay safe and healthy!

Hi! Rent Reporting to credit bureaus is a much faster way to see someone's land lord history... you can see their payment amount, any late/missed payments, and it's on their credit report even if they move out in the middle of the night before they know they're evicted. It's going to be the future of verification, less time on PM and agents/admin, the accountability is higher, and the business makes money from the tenants paying for the charge monthly. Something to consider with evictions on hold/delayed until Aug 30 in states. I attached a fun article I wrote about the benefits of rent reporting :)
