This depends on the area/region you are in. What area/region are you looking for?

Also, here's a related article: blog.rentsoda.com/2009/12/how-to-be-succ...icipate-participate/

Hi Kris,

Thanks for your question. Are you an owner or vendor? Are you looking for the best associations to grow your business or are education opportunities of most interest to you and your team?

There are also several other conferences and organizations like Multifamily Pro NMHC, and the Apartment Internet Conference that are very progressive depending on your interest level.

There are several associations around the country that are very powerful. Any of the Texas associations have large membership base and plenty of education and networking opportunities. The Florida associations are good too. I'm in Denver and have served as a board member of AAMD. I have nothing but kudos for this association.

Let us know a little more about your needs and I'm sure we can help steer you in the right direction.

I vote for the Atlanta Apartment Association...but I'm a little biased. ;)

There are so many great organizations around the country that believe in making the industry better for all. I would start with the local NAA Affiliate where you live, and then branch out to areas that you see as the most beneficial for your business. Many of us often recommend other associations in different parts of the country and we stay in touch with each offer to "borrow" each other's best practices.

Hope you find what you are looking for!

Leigh has it right about the brainstorming conference :) It's an awesome experience!

As far as associations go, IREM has good things to offer, and, while I might be a little biased myself, I have to say that the Washington Multi-Family Housing Association is AMAZING! They make you want to be involved and they do such great work. If you're in the PNW, and you don't belong to WMFHA, you should. It's well worth your time and energy.

I agree with Leigh. Some of the best marketing ideas come out of the Brainstorming sessions! Take a look at some of these pictures ForRent.com took from this year's event!

The Optimization Summits look great this year. Check it out!
Lots of talented, knowlegeable and down-to-earth presenters.
Finally, no more, same-old, same-old.
