Hi everyone, I have a property that I believe has been targeted by professional negative review writers. Has anybody experienced this and were you able to resolve with Google?

Thanks! We’re doing that for all of our accounts. They just don’t always help.

Good luck and have lots of patience. It’s a huge issue across a number of industries right now, and Google simply isn’t that responsive to cleaning it up.

I would love to see what they are saying. I have some experience with this. Can you post their comment without revealing their name or the property’s? I’m sorry this is happening

They are poorly written and 10 showed up within 24 hours. Names are made up and the reviews use strange words to describe the property. I’ll try to post a screen shot.

As frustrating as I know it is, I truly think that most savvy future tenants can judge the quality of those "reviews" once they read them. Also, they will judge the tone/quality of your responses to them. Perhaps there's a way to use some subtle humor in your responses to the ridiculous ones? I know that would stand out (positively!) to me if I saw it.

Who pays someone to write negative reviews? How is this even a thing? What is gained by writing bad/fake reviews?

So I had a huge problem with this after a terminated employee had practically all of her family negatively review us. I had all of my staff flag the review and nothing happened. I finally contacted Google, and essentially, although NONE of these people had ever lived there and I could provide documentation to prove that, their thought was that despite not LIVING at the property or having ever visited, these people did have some type of actual experience with the property, so the review was valid. Reviews are getting increasingly more difficult to remove and I think we just need to respond as well as we can.

here you go,
this will help you slightly but it is effective in countering the problem, even when it's a phony review
