Some companies are really confused about how much is too much and how much is too little, not to mention which sites are best. I have been asked to write an article on this subject for an industry publication. This article may be thought provoking. Please weign in on this. Credits will be given.
Hi Kim! Great topic! I look forward to reading it. We just recently created a marketing budget survey to get a feel for what worked and what didn't in 2010 and where property managers anticipate cutting or increasing market spend in the coming year. We started distributing it last Friday and are trying to get more participation. We will most likely close the survey at the end of this week. I would love to share the results with you, maybe it could help with your article. Here's a link to the survey for you to look over, or for anyone interested in participating:

Good luck with the article. Let me know if you're interested!
My company uses social media quite a bit, so far as the owner I do most of the posting and have paid very little for social marketing. I have found that a few sites have netted good returns while others have had little to know impact. I'm sure that results will vary on industry, size, demographics and other factors.
It will be fascinating to see what you come up with.
Thanks for responding. So far I have discovered that there are some folks in our industry who are really making the most of social media marketing like you are Charles. What I am running into is they do not want to always share the nitty gritty, like which sites are working, how much time they are spending and what the results are. I guess those are the main three categories.
So I have been sifting through coversations on a bunch of industry sites, and have started calling people directly who seem to be emmersed and successful. I welcome any information on the topic that you care to share. This is turmning into a BHAG (BIG HAIRY AUDACIOUS GOAL), but I am going to stick with it. I will keep you posted!
(I may even call you for a quote).
Kaitlyn,
I will tell all of my colleagues about your survey and we can collaborate with the results. Great idea! Why didn't I think of that?
