Student housing folks suggestions needed. I have 1120 units outside Philly where we have close to 200 units that are students. Between now and August, we have close to 150 units moving in that are students with up to 6 roommates. Past management, has never looked at how crazy the summer is when the students arrive. We plan to email move in brochures and the leases are signed electronically. In the past, the students came and paid their move in money that day. Now, that’s going to work because not everyone is arriving together. Common sense tells me that. I’d love to see your letter you send to the new applicants telling them when their money is due. I’m thinking 2 weeks in advance of their move in date? Are there international cashiers checks? All suggestions are welcome. Currently, we can send them our CC authorization form to complete for us to process the money but us their an easier way? Most are coming from China and Korea. Thanks everyone!

But even then you could have them move in by building at certain times or last bane by times. We did this when we has a conventional prop that was mainly student and was all one move in day.

We are on yardi and make them pay ahead of time and set up a little work flow with tables and packets to hand out at move in. Make enough keys for all roommates and have tablets for pm’s to confirm full payment. Happy to chat and give you some tips (were conventional as well).
