Just bought an August Smart Pro + Connect after using one at an Airbnb recently. Big fan so far. Only the inside is replaced so on the outside the door looks normal and a regular key can still be used if needed.
Absolutely not Kaba... they’re brutal to set up, program, and maintain. We’re signing on for latch at a different property. I have a rep I can refer you to that’s awesome
Con about August lock is if the resident moving out doesn't release themselves from the lock you have to contact August to reset it and it's not a very quick turn around.
Highly recommend Lucas Haldeman at SmartRent. Incredible interface and service, backed by many major players in the industry, integrated with most everyone. Will be the one to watch. reach out to me for more details.
Schlage smart locks are great for multifamily. STRATIS has partnered with Schlage to provide the mobile app for their smart locks and currently has over 500,000 multifamily users on the STRATIS mobile app. It also can integrate with ButterflyMX, Brivo common area locks and all smart products - a full Sidewalk to Sofa mobile app solution for residents!
Regardless of the aesthetics, please be sure to verify the lock you are considering installing on unit doors and common areas is adequately fire rated, ADA compliant, with single motion egress where required, and S2 security rated. Unfortunately many single family locks that don’t meet those requirements are being installed today by smart-home providers...be careful and don’t settle for less and add major risk to your residents, staff, managers and owners.
SmartRent, Stratis, Iota, Schlage, Vivint...do yourself a favor and do apples-to-apples comparisons.
All good with unique attributes and a common purpose.
All good folks.
WIFI, integrations, training and servicing are areas to closely consider based on the needs of your specific community(ie’s)
