nope. we don't have 'offices' at our various buildings and i would not want onsite managers responsible for that. We are not a high end company and there are plenty of options these days to have packages delivered to a safe location if they are worried. Hasn't affected us at all.
We have a Parcel Pending package locker but any packages that are too big just stay on the floor of the mail room. Residents are good about getting them and if they’re there for more than 2 days we tell the resident to come get them. It works well for us!
I have a big office, so OF COURSE I take packages. I just let my residents know that I close at 5. If you have the room in your office, you should accept packages. Don’t be a douche.
Not everyone says no because they don't want too, our office is a main office for all 20 properties we own located away from all of them . None of them have offices on site and there is no way i'd put that on the onsite manager to be responsible for. We are a medium sized, affordable market. I had maybe one issue where the UPS driver (we saw on camera) literally opened the lobby door and threw the box in without getting a signature). Go figure. personal responsibility. yikes
If there is no room to add Package Concierge at your property, you can ask them to get the deliveries held for pickup or have them delivered to their offices. That worked well for my company -- very little push back from residents.
I don't have an office so they're left at their doors. With today's technology they can get a text when a package is coming and when it's delivered. They can also arrange for all of the week's packages to be delivered on one specific day. Maybe suggest that they set up their package deliveries for Saturday or whenever they'll be home.
