let me check...ive never personally used them, a developer I work with does in his units. he originally was using cheap ones and had to replace them with better ones.
Lance Bergeron looked up the model they used, which yes, they are a pain, and take a long time, but when space is an issue its a great option to still have the in unit w/d. if the only option is to use a combo unit vs. not having one, get it. the properties I worked on use a LG one but the specific model is discontinued. however, they still make them. just inform your tenants how to properly use them and you'll be fine. people will take having something in their apt vs a laundry room everyday.

Check the ApartmentRatings.com comments of the properties that have them. Not a lot of fans. I have heard that Bosch makes a good one, if you have to have them.

Pretty well-known fact that all the new high-tech dryers and washers these days are b******* and crap compared to what my parents grew up on.
The best washing machines have an agitator and a water tank they don't need all these frilly settings and special features.
The best dryers are simply rotating drums with a solid heat source and a lint screen.
Everything else is just hard to maintain without specialized tools/training/equipment or just an upsale for shit you don't need.
Hate. Twice we had a fire because the tenant used home dry cleaning products in them. Two different households that didn't know each other. Got rid of them fast from all the units.
Not in love with them. We have them at a 40-unit senior property built in 2009. They are ventless which is why they went with them to begin with. However, the load size capacity is so small. This causes most of the problems because people overload them. There is no laundry room on the property, so we are stuck with these. If I had anything to do with the decision to install them, I would say no.
