Anyone else ever show their own place as a model? Sometimes we have nothing to show, and I don’t mind showing my apartment. On many occasions it has influenced their decision.

I would just worry about your safety. Revealing where you live can be risky, especially if a prospect sees something they like, the watch your routine for a while and then rob you.
I've done it before in a very rare occasion, and normally its if an occupied unit is refusing entry OR it's a hot mess and it would be detrimental to show it in its current condition.. In three years I've shown my own unit twice. No biggie. Since i do a lot of work on the front end, i'm not worried someone is going to do any harm or break in.
Take pictures of your beautiful home but do not show strangers no matter who they are your privacy. This is very dangerous. It can lead to robberies in the future and when you least expect it. Alarm or none.
Show pics or video.
I would not show it period bc the other tenants know your unit and they can easily play stupid and ask a neighbor where your unit is bc you they just moved there and forgot some BS TRUST NO ONE
I have shown my apartment when it was the only 2/2 Townhouse & we had a waiting list...No one ever bothered me at home & would definitely do it again as it made the prospect feel comfortable about how to place furniture & it built a report that we were a community within a community. Property is now at 99% after an aggressive takeover
I would never do this. What happens when you get a person in your office that you do not want to take in your house because they give you a bad feeling? Now you have a fair housing violation!
If I were a prospect and an agent took me into their apartment, I’d be VERY creeped out. Nice or not. It takes it to a very personal level that might make people’s really uncomfortable
Years ago....The apt I lived in was also my office/model... needless to say my family & I were robbed couple months after moving in.....one of my move ins & their friends from the neighborhood did it...priceless/irreplaceable pictures, family jewelry passed down, electronics you name it they grabbed it.... NEVER AGAIN will I do that again. Thankfully we have maintained renters insurance. But still. You never know. Just be careful.
