We get a laundry basket from the dollar store that holds an appropriate sized load of clothes. We then fill it with cleaning supplies, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. We also add bottled waters (branded with our logo) and snacks. Well under $40 and new residents really appreciate it!
I do a lot of gifts for my clients. We have a great engraved cutting board, along with some other choices of wood gifts- program that is personalized for your new tenant and is branded to your company. As well as many other branded options!

Think about the last time you moved in somewhere and what was it that you needed pretty much right then and there but you don’t recall what box you put it in ....
Many ppl get hungry during moving
Can’t find the toilet paper or hand soap
Even a plant or welcome balloons in the living room
Or something that they can add to their home like a cutlery set knife set laundry bundles.
Endless options
If you are able to buy in bulk, check with the closest Tiffany store and their business rep. In the past I've gotten Tiffany MI gifts (bowls, certain types wine glasses) from them as MI gifts for assets in lease up and have been able to get them for under that amount (it's been a few years so I don't know what they still have/don't within that price range). The blue bag and box make a big impact at move in.
My best move in gifts were made up from donations from local restaurants and merchants. We had $50 gift cards from a local steak house, free dinner for 2 to Fogo de Chao, champagne, glasses etc. we only paid for the basket
Consider instead of a move in gift so to speak, gift card to Domino's or Pizza Hut for $25, a welcome letter signed personally by the staff, and $3 case of water in the fridge. Total cost $30, and result is priceless.
Grateful & Company does Gratitude Packs with branded merch that say We’re So Grateful for You on them! All of their products are also on mission to end suicide.
They range from $25-$30 a box.
I have found going to local businesses, restaurants, hairdressers, gym( if you don’t have a club house.) a lot of these places will give gifts and gift cards to promote local business. Helps new residents get to know local establishments and helps out local businesses.
There are so many items that are available...branded apparel call me or PM me. Branded items too from logo front door mats to branded cutting boards...yeti style coolers with branded embossed.
I know it is old school, but since I just moved into a apartment after 20 years, the home made ones with toilet paper, shower curtain, paper towels, soap, 6 pack of coke and a pizza coupon sure would have been welcomed our 1st day/night...
When I moved into an apartment back in the 80’s the best gift ever, was the staff telling me, to break down all my boxes, to call them when I was ready & they’d come into my apartment & pick them up & dispose of them for me.
Acts of service is always a good thing. For me as well it was a dinner that was preordered to our specifications at a local restaurant on our move in day. It was a dinner for two. Very nice and well received and to tell the truth it would have been much later and something we really didn’t want if we were in control.
I have tried so much- but one gift stands out the most with residents! Fridge full of water, sodas, and candy. With a sweet thank you card from the whole team! They love it and it stays in budget.

I put water in the fridge, toilet on the holder in all bathrooms, power towels in the kitchen with coupons, I also do other things but I’m following this for new ideas
Try Warm Willies - they deliver gift baskets - which range from $15 - $60, depending on your budget. You can customize the baskets based on what they have available...

I've been working with them for years, and they are always on time, and will invoice you if they are added as a vendor to your management company (if applicable).
