We bought a bunch of stuff in bulk and would do cello bags filled with a small bottle of dawn, a roll of toilet paper, a few dishwasher tabs, a 2 pack of tide washing powder, a roll of paper towels, etc. things that you need when you first move in that you may not know where you packed them. And then we’d throw in a cup or koozie or something with our branding on it.

Our budget is pretty small so I go to the dollar store and get gift bags and put cute kitchen towels, sponge, dish soap, gain detergent, Lysol wipes etc... things that people may need while all their stuff is still packed.

We go with a local company called Please and Thank You. They make beautiful gift baskets. Right now we have a basket with a chalk board and it says welcome to lake bradford and that is filled with local virginia treats and wrapped so pretty! It is about $26 per move in.

Welcome mats- new residents & renewals. They love it! I use to get other things like everyone has said but it wasn't a hit with everyone. They run 11.99 but if you buy a lot if them you can get them for a couple dollars less each. GABP

I’m at a mostly student property. We did a move in gift table and filled it with random stuff from the dollar section at target. They also receive a really nice cooler/beach bag that we put in the apartment ahead of time. But we let them pick the random gift from the table and it’s worked well. Mixes it up a little.

Recently, we've been putting frozen pizzas in the freezer, with a roller pizza cutter with our logo, placed in a cute gift bag and accompanied by a hand written note. It's so simple, but very thoughtful. Moving day is always crazy, and the first thing people forget to do in this day, is eat!

I generally spend $20 each. I make a basket of items from Dollar Tree. Most of my tenants are military. They're either moving into their 1st apartment ever. Or they are waiting for their household goods to arrive. I put in laundry detergent, dish soap and wash towels. Some paper goods and make it a mini cleaning kit. They are greatly appreciated.
