For those communities using doggie DNA- what are you charging for fees when a sample comes back with a match? I would like to assess $300 to really drive the point home ????
We charge $350 for the first match, and then $65 for matches 2, 3 and 4. After the 4th match, the dog is evicted. We’ve only had to do that once, and we gave them more than 4 chances!
Kim Kaye interesting that you start out with the big fine. Pooprints is $75 just to run the sample. How do you justify the fine not covering the costs?

Oh it was very pricey when we first rolled it out - we raised our pet privilege fee to help offset the cost. Our goal is no poo, and a big fine the first time tends to scare them into submission. Prospects and residents without pets love that we do this!
Just to cover the testing fee. Although we have considered increasing. We normally dont have repeat offenders after the first positive match. From the same site as Kim!
Do residents register their dogs with a swab - or do we just send in the poo sample and then determine who has a dog like the description from the results? TIA
Thanks for your input, everyone! I think I'll do $300. It isn't outrageous, but stings enough to hopeful curtail the problem. At worst, it helps cover the cost of the program!
Karin Marquez C Ht Add to the ledger. Tell them you will apply their rent payment toward the fine making their rent late. You can then charge a late fee or discuss eviction in which case they will have a change of heart and pay the fine. Disclaimer- I work at a class A property. May work differently at B or C properties
