I’m taking my test Tuesday! Had the prep class today. I took the practice test on the Naahq site and did well. I did notice there were a good number of marketing questions. I made flash cards too.... there’s a lot of them ???????? GOOD LUCK!
Our teachers told us to pay attention to what the question is asking. And the practice test showed just that. Read the question for what it is.

Learn the financial stuff and do all the example problems. It's half the test and it can really bog you down--BUT the other half of the test won't take nearly as long, so don't worry about your overall time. It was harder when the financial section was it's own test and only 2 hours.

So the thing that helped me the most was I made flashcards from all the practice questions at back of chapters and then the formulas. When I did that I recorded myself reading the question and answer. That was the only thing I listened to up to my test. I know it sounds weird but I swear it helped

Best thing I did, took mine a month or so back! Memorize this, and as soon as you sit down to test you are given scrap paper, write this down and any other formula you know before you start. It helped me and I passed with flying colors. There are a lot of questions so getting the formulas out of my head allowed me to focus on each question and no panic if I would remember or not.

We formed a facebook study group in my CAM class back in 2014. Sometimes we'd meet up after classes to study what we'd just learned which really helped us to memorize the formulas. We also used an app called Quizlet that was helpful.

Financials are going to be the toughest part. Make sure that you are comfortable looking at a variety of different numbers and remember your formulas! You will definitely bounce all over the place with formulas. GOOD LUCK! I passed mine the first time, but it wasn't easy!

Do the practice tests on NAA.

I had to take it twice, then they came back and said there were grading & answer errors on that particular exam and they came back and passed me and others who took it at the same time!

you need to enroll in the Test Prep Webinars. There's a part 1 and part 2. These test preps ARE EXTREMELY HELPFUL. don't just take the webinar: i had my camera snapping away and used the pics to help me study. and you need to take notes, too!

Download the Quizlet app and search for CAM. It's a digital flashcard app and it lets you access flashcards other people have made. There are tons of people who have already made flashcards for the CAM exam. I used the app and it was super helpful!

In addition to the financials, make sure you study the Legal Responsibilities section, too. I got caught up in some of those questions.

Good luck!

Don’t get hung up on or overthink the vision practice quiz questions. Some of them make no sense but trust that the ones on the actual CAM test at the end are more practical and in tune with our industry.

Try to memorize all the formulas for the math portion! In my opinion most of it is common sense if you’ve been in the industry a while but the math formulas are tough to remember. As soon as I sat down to do the test, I wrote down all the formulas I could remember. Helped me a ton. Good luck!

As an instructor I recommend studying the formulas and practicing them from financial module. If you have not taken there is a financial prep boot camp course on visito also with NAA. Also take sample test on the NAA website.

Formulas, formulas, formulas! Memorize them, you can get caught up in them because the terminology might be different than what you are accustomed to. Also, the Legal Responsibilities section was tougher for me because it's not stuff that I have to think about as often as leasing, marketing, & resident retention sort of stuff. Good old fashioned flash cards worked best for me!
