Question. Have you ever dealt with a new tenant who wants to transfer or move out because its being haunted in the recently moved in apartment? First timer for me. She’s been coming in for the past three days???????? I need advice...
I've dealt with that before. first thing you need to get an understanding of what it is that she's experiencing to make her think this or feel this way. Once you have that then tell her you will investigate and if you decide to let her transfer tell her that a transfer fee will apply and she'll have to pay whatever the market rate is on the new apartment she's moving in to. Good luck because it's not easy
Yes, I've dealt with this. Their tv reset the sleep timer when they moved so it would turn on at 3am. Easy fix. The breaker needed to be replaced which caused the lights to go out. Previous tenant smoked which caused a random odor - used an ozone machine to resolve. Squirrels had gotten into their ceiling - sealed the gaps. All happened first week, resolved second week and he was happy for years.
Yes I have and I sent them to a medium as he was a type of person who didn’t go to church. (Otherwise, I woulda said ask your pastor) I was in full belief that he brought it with them. Several residents lived there before him and they never had an issue.
Nikki Carbine we've had the exact opposite happen. We moved into an apt that had a ghost. It was with us for a year. I remember pulling out out the driveway when we moved and knew he stayed behind.
Yes, we actually had a haunted apartment. Most stayed for their year and left. Same stories from every resident that lived that unit. I worked there over 7yrs. every story the same-tv going on and off, keys disappearing-kids freaking out in the middle of the night, doors opening and closing, bed sheets being pulled off. from what I was told when I got there, that they had a medium come out and stated the property was on a civil war battle field, wondering spirits-never caused harm-just scared the snot out of residents
I had a resident once who continue to complain daily about the people above her.... she lived on the top floor and it was new construction. This is a tough one, perhaps speak to a priest and offer an exorcism?
Had one come in and ask if something happened in their apartment and they saw stuffed animals fall off the beds randomly and seen figures in mirrors and such. There had been a death near that particular apt. It raised some hairs of mine
I’ve had this happen a few times! I had a resident download a “ghost finder app” and the app displayed levels of “spirit activity”. Of course for 99 cents more, one could capture a photo of said spirit - the photo was nothing more than a superimposed sticker of a zombie... much like this emoji ????♀️ ???? Resident deleted the app and just like that - spirit free
I have also used sage or Paulo Santo to clear a space. You may want to recommend the resident asks the ghosts to leave. This energy is following/attached to the resident, she needs to ask it to move on.
Had the same thing happen a couple of months ago. Said there was someone talking to her in the bathroom, skipped out and when we walked it she had left a shrine for the ghost with an offering of a donut.
I guess you could tell her that you would burn sage in there. I actually had an apartment like that. The tenant would hear noises at night we research and found out that someone had passed away in that unit and everyone thought it was an unsettled spirit. So the resident made the previous decided to be “ friends and she is still there!!!
I had a resident blame “the poltergeists” for damages to walls, carpets etc. She filed a frivolous fair housing lawsuit (dismissed) after she received her final account. She had never reported the poltergeists prior.
Had another resident that refused to pay rent and demanded a priest to perform a ceremony. (She found one on her own), but soon after moving out, new resident claimed she would see a vapor shadow of an old woman at random times. I started to believe it ????. Encourage your resident to find a person from their faith community to help.
I live in an apartment myself.
No matter where I go they come.
Yes THEY COME
Idk why they are attached to me where ever I go
At first it was freaking me out but I’ve gotten so used to it there are times where I yell bc something has fallen something I find broken or open but I’ve learned to just brush it off
I’m dead serious.
Now of anything I know ir sucks having to transfer but if they really want to charge what you charge to move them. I would not bother with the headache on dwelling what to do
I'd let them transfer but I would be going to the apartment with the person to check out what they are feeling or experiencing first hand. If nothing was happening I would stay a while and visit to get a good idea of what I was dealing with for the next occupant. In 25 years I have only experienced one haunted apt. It was creepy.
I'd just tell them it's an amenity, and no extra charge... or better yet tell them that it's a premium to have haunts, and then tell them that you forgot to add that to their rent, but will fix it right away lol
