Gotta love Friday the 13th, thank God they didn’t burn down the building -
This high rise has 223 apartments and they were on the penthouse floor ...
Boiler was filled with plastic Tupperware and they forgot it was in there -
** positive note ... staff training in emergency preparedness!

Many people mobilize so fast, thank god our engineer and maintenance supervisor were on that floor, they’re the ones that grabbed the hallway fire extinguishers and put it out !

that is one reason we check ovens at inspections. Had some tenants who thought it was a place to store paper products

Had that one happen a few years back at one of our rentals. Kids loaded the oven with nerf guns, their mom started to pre-heat it!

WE have you beat. She left the hot oil in the sauce pan on the stove. Luckily, the fire ended up smoldering after it used up all the Oxygen in the unit (she was not there at the time). Had it been nice weather with the windows open to air this would have been a massive fire.

Not sure if it would have helped in this situation. We have installed AUTO OUT stove top fire suppressors in all of our units.

Have you ever seen someone drying their underwear and bras in the oven?
I ended up adding that to the lease addendums as a prohibition because it was a scheduled inspection so she knew when we were coming and was still doing it as if it were ordinary behavior.
That was a first for me.
