The company I work for it is ridiculously lengthy, with a 6 pg checklist and must be done on the 25th monthly regardless if it's on the weekend or holiday! My previous MGMT company we literally completed it in 10 minutes. Miss those days.. harbor group
I’m the controller of our company. We use Yardi. We close on the last day of the month regardless of whether it’s a weekend or not. (Accounting reasons). There is a long checklist for site staff but it’s full of instructions on how to run the reports the site staff needs to review. If the site staff is working their paperwork as they should month end on site should be very simple. Since I’m the person that closes the month my workload depends on how well the site staff completed theirs.
Support staff (corporate) should work on shortening as many processes as they can for onsite management so they can spend more time on their residents, building team and getting out on their properties.

Estrella Santi well that’s just ridiculous. Is there things you can do daily during the month that can shorten your list? Like adjustments, write offs, Sodas

I'm familiar with that checklist. If everything is done on time prior to ame then it's just a matter of running reports and checking that off the list.
Estrella Santi If I wasn't there. Either they would move them in, run the $, and rerun the report or b. Change the mi date to day after and I would notate on the report. Accounting never gave pushback.
I have a lengthy AME checklist (Yardi) as well. However as long as we complete our daily task... daily then my AME is done with the exception of a few things we must wait for (Apply Credits, First of Month Billing & emailing the reports). I knock out that checklist in 10 minutes easily! ????

Ours are always done on the same day each month and if it's a day I am off I come in to do it so reports are pulled for that day. Sometimes its quick but if there are fixes it can take longer

We have a pre close process done between the 20th to 23rd. Set up to generate in OneSite, 4 pages, auditing 4 or so reports. Due to the RPM on the 24th. RPM audits and approves. Then, closing is due to the accountant on the 25th which is a run of final reports. These are also set up in One Site to generatenall at once. If done properly, it could take 3 hours for about 600 units or more.
