Your maintenance supervisor calls you at 10:30pm when you are in bed and informs you that your new move in has called with an infestation of baby bats. As a property manager what do you do?
Answer:
You hop out of bed grab a sheet(the Hannibal in me..that’s what my gpa always did) , gloves, and mask to get it done. Team work makes the dream work.
It was comical we all kept going “Houston, we have a flier” and I would tell the girls to go back into the bedroom and shut the door.
At the end of it the girls were so grateful to see the response time and the fact that the property manager even showed up with gloves, a mask, and a bedsheet in her pj pants. They said they have never had a complex care so much to the extent of the property manager with her maintenance supervisor just getting the bats out. One of them put it on tik toc so let’s hope we go viral. It was an efficient, but comedic mess.
Life is never dull in property management. Just be there for your residents property managers. Sometimes just seeing your face and that you care albeit with a face mask, a bed sheet, and rubber gloves..wearing pjs. They just want to know you care.
Lawd I’m laughing and miss the business, but not these calls ????
Ashley Rowland remember a certain domestic dispute where we were shown a certain item by the girls mom.....
I've shown up in the middle of the night in my pj's for a flood and helped clean up. But never ever would I go around bats! I would be screaming like a little girl. I would definitely buy my maintenance a case of beer to handle that one. ????????????
You guys are too sweet! I will try to get the link. I laugh about it even thinking of it again! I wasn’t trying to get praise, but just tell everyone you can do small things and it means a lot during this time...but come on.. “Houston we have a flier” will be a phrase that we use often as a joke. That was funny!
