I have a large property and it seems we are always posting notices to all units. Annual inspections, water shut off notices, parking lot cleaning, etc. How do you juggle hundreds of loose papers and the role of tape (and the phone and the pager, etc.) and get the notices posted efficiently?

I have seen people who distribute flyers downtown that have these hip/waist pouches that hang from their neck. But I have no idea where to purchase something like that.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Rose

When I worked on site, I used a regular messenger bag that I had purchased at Old Navy. I paid about 12 dollars for it and it held everything that I needed it to :) It doesn't have to be perfect, but if you really wanted to get something that looked neat, you might think about uploading your logo to cafe press and putting it on one of the messenger bags they have there for sale.

My personal choice is a fishing / cargo vest, but my properties "bundle" their fliers or posts. We try to deliver the runt of the papers in packets, giving the residents something to read that is "together" rather than loose-leafing it. (except for delinquency / evictions paperwork, that is).
The other thing I've seen properties do is create magnets with the most used notifications (inspections, furnace filter replacements, water shutoffs) and post them at mailbox groupings, entry doors, etc. Or.... turn it all into email posts or text posts. Save paper, staff time, and your residents' garbage bags.
