Amazon has been to my property numerous times attempting to sell me on Amazon Key and I kept telling them no as we have always opened our gate for delivery drivers as soon as we see them pull in. One day, our gate malfunctioned. When our control access vendor came out to look, they noticed an Amazon box was installed (Amazon Key) in our control panel. When they installed it, they ripped out a main wire which was pricey to replace. After numerous calls to Amazon, I’m still trying to get reimbursed.
The fact they did this has rubbed me the wrong way entirely as this was done without consent.
We don't have gates but fobs for building access. Numerous residents include their secret pin in the delivery instructions so now multiple drivers have access. I can't necessarily change all the residents codes but it would be nice if I could know who was entering and when.
We rolled this out about 6 months ago at most of the communities within my portfolio. Managers were frustrated with the amount of Amazon drivers that don’t utilize it because they don’t know how. It’s gotten a little better, but definitely still an issue.
Well now they just leave them outside of the buildings and packages are consistently getting stolen. I was hoping it would be a positive addition but it sounds to good to be true. No cost for install or monthly service fee. Make you go hmm
What city are you in. They basically have all of the packages delivered to their warehouses. Your residents have the app and choose what time they wanted it delivered directly to their apartment. They except all sizes they have cold storage. It’s great. It takes package management off of your teams. They are not everywhere yet but if they are in your city I would highly recommend taking them as your package as your Package vendor. Much better than any lockers or package rooms

Fetch is a personal delivery service for your residents. Your residents will use their unique fetch delivery address when shopping online. Their package will go to the Fetch warehouse. Once they receive it, they send a notification (text, email and or push notification) and the resident will choose the day and time to have their package personally delivered. Go to their site to see if it’s offered in your area. What area are you in?
I think she's talking about the amazing being able to enter the gate without having to buzz a key code. Not the package lockers. But Fetch is a great option. In general though, lockers only work as well as the residents and delivery people understand how to use them.
Yes I know what Amazon key is. But with fetch she wouldn’t have to worry about getting the key from Amazon. I can’t tell you how many times they’ve tried to sell me on that. The matter of the fact is, my property uses fetch so the residents shouldn’t be getting delivers directly from Amazon. If so, the resident needs to give them the proper access.
We love Fetch and so do our residents! They can begin using it as soon as they sign their lease and they will store packages in their warehouse. They have climate controlled storages and I have not had 1 complaint about packages IF the resident updates their shipping address!
I have it installed at my community.
Our Amazon deliveries has actually gotten worse. Their drives don’t seem to be trained on how to use it, and then argue when you try to correct them.
I have it installed on my property. There are pros and cons. Pros for me so far is that it does work. I have less packages being left outside the breezeways and less theft of packages that I have to hear about. The other nice thing is that it was free and they come to fix it for free. The con is that their systems go offline some what easily. So now they have to come and reinstall newer equipment to see if that will help.
I have never had a bad experience with their customer service. If you contact the right individuals. It was a little bit of a run around the first time to get ahold of them but once I did them seem great.
If you would like more info just pm me!
Amazon is amazon. No matter what we do..... their service is horrible. They’ll still deliver to the wrong door and still shove 3/4 packages in one locker.
Yes, we use it for all of our Airbnb’s and Clubhouses.
Pros:
1. Multiple codes can be programmed with access type and dates customized.
2. Codes can be programmed to individuals names and phone numbers and text messages sent to those people
3. Access control and oversight at the touch of a button
Cons:
1. There’s been a couple of times when we had a last minute Airbnb reservations and to get the error code “cannot add user at this time” is frustrating when I have a family who needs to gain entrance
2. The constant notifications every time a code is used to gain entrance or lock up
They’ll bug the hell out of you to get the deal, but nothing will change. The only remedy is a direct email where you can send tracking numbers to to “report” drivers who misdeliver but that becomes a whole other job for your staff. Not worth it.
They pressured us to get installed quickly, but none of the drivers even know what it is. And we still continue to get calls from businesses trying to get us to install it. I think it’s all a scam

I’m loving all the comments about Fetch! I absolutely love them. I have them at my property and my sister community where I live just picked them up as well so now I have accounts for work and at home! I never have issues with their delivery crew and they send proof of delivery or you can setup the account to only have things delivered if you are home.
Our experience was that Key for Business could not deliver a product that worked with our door systems. They also could not deliver on their commitments to find a solution. A good concept but no execution yet.
Not only did nothing change but everyday we get solicited by Amazon and asked if we want this service that we already have. Drivers are as confused as ever and our deliveries with them have gotten worse if that is possible.
I'm a journalist at the Associated Press writing an article about this. If you've been contacted by Amazon, would love to hear about why you did or didn't install it. My email is: [email protected]
The downside is that the tenants who pay extra for expedited delivery or 1 day express have to wait an additional 24 hours to receive their package. Definitely made a lot more tenants angry that they not only had to pay the monthly fee for the service but that they can't even opt out of it. So no, Fetech is not always the best way.
