Just in case you couldn't read the other 4 times it was written. Our residents prefer turning in blank money orders and making me play the mind reading or guessing game for our 552 units.
I would send it back and tell them the bank will not accept their money order since they wrote outside the line and they will need to get a new one!!!! Oh and if they don’t have it in by the regular late date they will have a late payment and fee!
I recently had 3 (yes 3) money orders for 1 apartment, and all were made out to me personally, not the community! Their apartment number was not on it, nor could I read the signature. Thanks for the $1000! BTW you have a late fee now too!
It amazes me me how many money orders we get with no unit # and an illegible signature. To this day, one of our offices has a photocopy of an unclaimed money order from 2 years ago.
It didn’t match anyone’s rent amount, nor did what we can make make of the signature match the names of any residents.
We no longer accept money orders. If they would like to make a “cash” payment it is done through MoneyGram at a MoneyGram location and it links right into their account in MRI.
Saves us SO much time in the office each month!
Same here. Money orders can be submitted at any Walmart through WIPS otherwise they have to pay through Resident Portal. Occasionally we will accept a cashiers check, but they cannot be dropped off at the office unless it’s to stop an eviction.
