Yes! Do something decent or don’t do anything. Keep in mind, tenancy is typically a few years. So an average lease has a value of $30k - $50k.Patio chairs and small table $100. Beer and wine in fridge $30. Decent set of bath towels $30. Nice trash can w/ bags and cleaning supplies $30. Pool towels $15. Coffee cups & faux Yeti tumblers $20. Google Nest $30. Netflix gift cards $25. Door dash gift card $25. Wine fridge (higher end props) $150. Think of stuff you can brand, they’ll carry your logo around for a long time. Days of the red plastic spaghetti strainer, a jar of Ragoooo spaghetti sauce and a box of spaghetti are long over…
We do a small welcome bag. Hand Soap, garbage bag, sponge, some candies and if they have pets the they get a goodie bag too. Budget doesn’t allow us to do much more
I loved going to dollar tree and grabbing a small wire basket, dish soap, detergent, dryer sheets and a sponge and making a little “welcome home” gift with a personalized card from the leasing agent
I provide promotional items to management companies and do lots of love in gifts. Cutting boards, trivets, kitchen kits , coasters. Lots of great ideas. Let me know if you need help. I work with people all over the country

We stage our apartments with coffee mugs, colorful kitchen towels, and inexpensive colorful vinyl shower curtains. We leave these in place for the new moveins. The shower curtains especially, since some residents would use the shower without one!
Cindy Shearer I thought ours was the only property where people did that. I’m amazed at the amount of people who think they can shower without a shower curtain.

We work with a local pizza company, give a free large pizza coupon, and then in the gift bag, trash bag, paper towel, toilet paper, and bottled waters. They love it!
Absolutely! You’re on a budget 99 Cents store has some cute things. Or the dollar tree, kitchen utensils, snacks, and toilet paper is a must, everyone seems to use those.
I am low income so my budget for this is non existent. I found some super cute keychains that say "Welcome Home" on one side and "We're glad you're here" on the other.
We do a foldable picnic blanket with handle and zipper that is lined on the bottom for waterproofing for the Concerts in the Park and hanging out at tons of other parks in Pleasanton CA We buy them from Can You Imagine
I have a Glowforge at home so I can do my own property's keychains, cutting boards, or other personalized items, magnets, etc. If anyone needs anything engraved, feel free to PM me. I work in wood, acrylic, leather, paper, etc..
My company really promotes them and we love making them in the office. Our company sends us gift and we can package them up how we see fit. We like it because it’s a nice break from paperwork and another way to be creative.
Will the gesture be offset by the friends car being towed when they’re trying to help with move because there was nowhere to park? Maybe the package should have some kind of “moving helper” sign that allows them more flexibility?
We start with the basics toilet paper and paper towels decorated with tissue paper. Then work from there depending on the new move in and their lifestyle but it can range from a kitchen basket to animal bowls etc. we always include trash pickup, pest control and filter change schedules as well.
Totally agree with this! I love to do something nice, however, it is not an expense that is really budgeted for so we have to make do with what we do for that month. I wish our main office saw more value in this and encouraged it. We have a "marketing" provider that was doing branded move in gifts but there are never in stock anymore and were pretty pricey. I would buy a few here in there when the marketing $ was in the budget or if there was a wiggle room.
I buy a $5 basket from Walmart then go to the dollar store and fill it with TP, Paper Towels, Dishwashing Liquid, Toilet Bowl cleaner, Disinfecting wipes, Laundry Detergent and Fabric Softener (we have washers & dryers in our units) and I get a set of pot holder, wash cloth and dishtowel that matches their personality and include a gift card. It goes over extremely well and I have less than $20 invested in it. They tell their friends about it though and we have had referrals because of it. (I have always cleaned an apartment before I moved in just because I don't know who cleaned it and their standards and obviously the cleaning product is in the other location and not handy at all so it seems to work)
Yes! I used to give that to the new move ins along with toilet paper and
And soap. Believe it or not people did appreciate it. (The maintenance team certainly appreciated it)
